Microwaves are prone to spills, splatters and nasty odours, which can cause unsightly stains, grease and grime - especially if they aren't cleaned up straight away. A good rule of thumb is to clean your microwave after every use, or at least once a week, but this isn't achievable for everyone.
Luckily, there's one natural ingredient you already have at home which will make the grime wipe off easily - even if it's been sitting there a while. Cleaning tools company Seep, which featured on Dragons Den UK, took to TikTok to share a method of cleaning microwave grime with ease, and "no elbow grease" required.
They captioned the clip, which was shared on their @theseepcompany TikTok account: "No more elbow grease! One simple natural ingredient can do so much." The video features a very dirty microwave, which has had a food "explosion", but according to the cleaning experts at Seep, all you need to get rid of it are a few lemons.

Many people might already have lemons in their fridge, but if not you can pick them up for around 30p per citrus fruit, from your local supermarket. First thing you need to do is cut "a few lemons" into segments, and place them in a bowl with water.
Next, place the bowl inside the microwave, and turn it on for about three to five minutes. According to Seep, the "steam loosens the grime", meaning you can easily wipe it off with a microfibre cloth. In the video, you can see the microwave looks sparklingly clean once again.
If you're looking for more hacks to clean microwaves without spending a fortune on cleaning products, mum and content creator Monique Pena shared her genius method.
First, the mum takes a glass bowl and fills it with white vinegar, followed by a couple of pumps of washing up liquid. She then puts it inside the microwave and turns it on for three minutes.
Similarly to the lemon trick, this also softens the grease enough to be wiped away with ease.
She then shared a second hack, which involved using just hot water and cinnamon sticks, leaving her kitchen with a gorgeous "cinnamon winter scent," instead of a vinegary smell.
If you are using these methods to clean your microwave, be sure to be careful when you remove the bowl of hot water to avoid getting burnt.
